Get Sleep This Summer

Having a steady sleep schedule can be tough during the summer months. Dr. Sunita Kuma, medical director of the Loyola Medicine sleep program, stated that when school is out, there are more distractions and schedule changes causing sleep to suffer. This harmless lack of rest may not seem like a big deal but research shows that people with poor sleep patterns are more likely to carry around excess weight and develop chronic disease. In fact, even just a few nights of tossing and turning can affect mood, concentration, and metabolism.
